House Alight - Horsley Park
Truman Rd Horsley Park
At 0258 on 18 November 2008, a ‘000’ call was received to a house alight on Truman Rd at Horsley Park, Horsley Park and Eastern Creek Brigades were paged, and NSWFB Stn 101 Bonnyrigg Heights despatched as well for Mutual Aid. Whilst appliances were inbound visible flames could be seen issuing from the area and upon arrival a two storey brick structure was confirmed fully alight. Additional resources were responded and the fire contained within 2 hours.
Crew from Horsley Park remained in attendance for several hours later to assist Fire Investigators and remain on fire watch as some small pockets of smoke continued to issue whist investigations were carried out.
Thankfully the house was unoccupied at the time, but installed smoke alarms were working and proves a valuable lesson of the need for working smoke alarms in all houses.
