Truck Alight - M7 Motorway

M7 Motorway, Wallgrove road off ramp

Horsley Park 1 was called to a Truck Alight on Wallgrove Road, Eastern Creek near the M7 Motorway, on arrival the crew of Horsley Park 1 were faced with a metal recycling semi-trailer with fire issuing from the trailer.
Crew donned Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus (CABA) and undertook an offensive attack on the fire in the trailer. Shortly after the crew were assisted with the arrival of Aerial Pumper 097 – Huntingwood which set up their aerial boom and attacked the fire from overhead.
Further RFS Cat 1 Appliances arrived later from Hoxton Park and Casula to assist, along with Heavy Hazmat 077 – St Marys to monitor water quality run-off.

Due to the nature of the incident Inspectors from both NSWFB and RFS responded and Group 2 from Cumberland RFS.
